Meet Wrap Up: Golden Plains Inv. (May 22-24)

Hello TEAM,

LASER athletes jumped on a bus early Thursday morning and headed east to Winnipeg to RACE at the Golden Plains 2026 Invitational, hosted by the Manitoba Marlins. This was a TEAM travel event and it was a blast - so much FUN. Our TEAM really bonded through the TEAM relays, the hotel games, the bus rides, and of course the cheering and racing during prelims and finals! Athletes posted many best times and many swam events that were out of their normal wheelhouse. We used this meet as a final development event before our championship meets (Junior A or Man/Sask). Many athletes got to swim long course events for the first time or ones they haven't swum for a long time updating their time sheets. A bunch of athletes also posted qualifying times and many got to experience finals while racing TEAMs that we don't normally see. Overall this was a great opportunity for our swimmers and our TEAM of chaperons did an outstanding job keeping the athletes healthy and happy and setting them up for great success. Thank you everyone!

What an FUN weekend and an EPIC TEAM travel event. Again a huge thanks to our amazing chaperons, Ashley, Rina, Gus and Esha! You guys truly rock and really made the trip special, and kept everything running super smoothly - you're the best.... even Gus.
